We at Capital District Renal Physicians, are committed to early detection and complete care for patients with CKD. CDRP has a comprehensive clinic for all CKD patients. The physicians at CDRP work closely with our nurses, nurse practitioners and a registered dietitian within our CKD clinic to ensure that all aspects of kidney disease are treated properly and effectively. This type of care can slow the progression of CKD.
Chronic kidney disease, (CKD), affects one out of nine adult Americans. CKD is defined as kidney damage. It is confirmed by either a biopsy, imaging studies or blood or urine tests. If kidney disease progresses there will be a reduction in function which can lead to multiple health complications. Twenty six million Americans have some degree of CKD and another 20 million are at risk.
